Isa 29:13-24; Ps 27; Matt 9:27-31

 

Before God there is place for pretence and no opportunity for flattery. God sees to the core of human lives and motives. None of us will be found perfect, of course, but recognising our brokenness before God will be the first step of the wayward in spirit gaining true understanding.

It would seem that in both cases they had connection with immanent events at the time and also hold meaning as pointers to the bringing of all creation to a conclusion in God’s time.

  Thursday 17 th   December Gen 49:8-12; Ps 72:1-11; Matt 1:1-17   From today we begin the church’s countdown to Christmas using the “O Antiphons.”   O Wisdom, you come forth from the mouth of the Most High. You fill the universe and hold all things together in a strong yet gentle manner.    O come to teach us the way of truth.
